BACK IN CHARGE: Rendelsham batsman Matt Ballantyne will continue as Millicent and District Cricket Association president for the coming 12
months. Picture: J.L. “FRED” SMITH

THE Millicent and District Cricket Association will continue to have Matt Ballantyne as its president for the coming 12 months.

Representatives from the MDCA clubs re-elected the Rendelsham batsman unopposed to the key role at the annual general meeting in Millicent on Tuesday night.

Justin MacGregor continues as the MDCA vice president, Graeme Smith is the scores and program coordinator and Mike Gibson and Jeremy Peters are the My Cricket coordinators.

The first round will be played on October 27 with eight clubs competing in one division.

They are Mount Burr, Millicent Black Hats, Footballers, Furner/Beachport, Kingston, Rendelsham, Colts and Robe.

After two years back in the MDCA, the Tantanoola Cricket Club is again back in recess.

Byes have been scheduled for December 8, December 29, January 5 and January 26.

The finals will be played over three weekends with the grand final on March 16.

Peters is also organising the MDCA team to play in the 20/20 cup against Mount Gambier sides.

MDCA 2017/18 premiers Mount Burr will be competing for the Country Homes Cup in a 20/20 knock-out format against Naracoorte in December culminating in a final at Adelaide Oval.

Mount Burr will have under 12 and Under 16 sides in the Mount Gambier competition and the MDCA will field Under 12 and Under 14 teams.
