GRANT District Council’s community ranging team has been busy with a string of incidents across the district over the past month.
Dog matters continue to keep the team busy with community rangers reporting one attack on a person and an attack on another dog.
Council staff have also been called out to wandering stock on roads, which is a major safety threat for motorists.
Staff have responded to seven incidents, including two after-hour call-outs.
Council also continues to monitor three properties relating to local nuisance and litter control matters.
“The Environment Protection Authority and council is dealing with the use and condition of a property at Yahl,” a council report said.
“Council may receive a development application for this property.”
Council staff have also dealt with two abandoned vehicles, as well as a number of illegal dumping reports.
Three illegal dumping incidents have been reported in forest areas.
Meanwhile, council has reported a solid uptake in dog registrations since the online system was introduced in July.
Council now only has around 130 outstanding dog registrations out of about 2500.
Staff have used SMS reminders for outstanding registrations and council rangers have been visiting properties at Yahl, Suttontown, Eight Mile Creek, Compton and Moorak.
