JAM PACKED: Brand’s Laira chief winemaker Peter Weinberg, cellar hand Kevin Haggerty and winemaker Amy Blackburn celebrate Coonawarra Cabernet Month.

COONAWARRA Cabernet Month starts this weekend with wineries across the region celebrating throughout October.

Brand’s Laira will have an assortment of events each weekend, kicking off with the Past, Current and Future wine tasting.

This weekend between 11am and 4pm patrons are invited to attend the winery to try three different vintages of Brand’s Laira’s award-winning cabernet sauvignon.

The event will be open from Saturday through to Monday and will continue on October 6 and 7, but with a twist.

The following weekend attendees can experience the Past, Current and Future event with added platters from the Coonawarra Store.

Chief winemaker Peter Weinberg encouraged the Limestone Coast community to get on board with Coonawarra Cabernet Month celebrations.

“It’s going to a jam packed month full of awesome events throughout the region,” he said.

“At Brand’s Laira, we have something happening each weekend, so there’s always something new to experience.

“Our winery is also part of the new Coonawarra Winery Walking Trail – I definitely encourage people to come out and give it a try.”

The walking trail brings together five wineries and two eateries from the region on a 5km trail.

Patrons taking part in the trail can download an application on their phones by searching Coonawarra Winery Walking Trail.

Visit www.coonawarra.org for more information about Coonawarra Cabernet Month.
