Pair up for suite life

FRESH FACES: Paul and Tania Morris have taken over Alexander Cameron Suites from former owner Bill Murray and managers Sue and Ralph Sharp.

PENOLA’S newest residents, Paul and Tania Morris, joined the community last month as the new owners of accommodation venue Alexander Cameron Suites.

Making the transition from life in Victoria, the couple are eager to get out into the community and explore the region.

With a family background in the hotel business, Paul and Tania believed the opportunity was too good to pass up.

“My family had always been in the industry and Tania and I had our own hotel many years ago,” Paul said.

“But we took a step back while our children were growing up, so we were excited to jump back into it.

“We were passed on the information about Alexander Cameron Suites and we fell in love with everything about it.”

Former owner Bill Murray said he was pleased the couple had decided to take on the opportunity.

“It is really exciting to have some fresh faces making their mark in Penola,” he said.

“I have taken a back seat for a little while now with Sue and Ralph Sharp managing the business, but it will obviously be different now Paul and Tania will take over completely.

“I am sad to be leaving, but I am ready for a change and have every confidence they will do the business justice.”

With a high standard set already, Paul and Tania do not have any plans to change the business model.

“Bill has done such an amazing job over the years and we are just focusing on keeping that going,” Paul said.

“Once we settle in, we may look at changes down the track but for now I think everything is working well as it is.”

Paul and Tania now hope to become active members of the Penola community and check out everything the region has to offer.

“I am excited to explore the community and get a feel for life here in the South East,” Tania said.

“I think I will definitely spend a bit of time at the wineries, but mostly we just want to do our part for the community that is our new home.”
