TENISON Woods College Year 12 students are encouraging male members of the community to join in the fun at their bowel cancer fundraiser.

The Greatest Wax – Blokes Wax for Bowel Cancer is dedicated to raising awareness and money to help reduce the high mortality rate caused by the condition.

On August 31, nominated men will have their legs waxed for the charity at the college.

The proceeds raised will go towards medical equipment in the Mount Gambier Hospital to aid in local bowel cancer treatment.

The students already have some iconic local identities involved, including Dr Tim McCullough, Dr Barney McCusker, Dr Matthias Wichmann, Peter Gazzard and The Border Watch’s own Christian Greco.

“Normally I am the one inflicting the pain, but this is such a crucial cause I am willing to submit,” Dr McCullough said.

Nominations are $25 for an individual and $50 for a business.

Contact Tenison Woods College on 87255 455 for more information or to nominate for the event.
