Mill dishes out much-needed donation

GENEROUS DONATION: Ian and Kerry McDonnell of NF McDonnell and Sons with Lynn Neshoda and David Millard of Foodbank Limestone Coast. The timber processing mill donated $10,000 to Mount Gambier’s Foodbank branch last week.

TIMBER processing mill NF McDonnell and Sons has donated $10,000 to Foodbank Limestone Coast.

The generous donation will allow Foodbank to purchase staple food items – products which are not donated regularly enough to meet welfare needs, according to Mount Gambier Foodbank manager Lynne Neshoda.

“These staple items are essential to families and will be distributed to 70 different non-profit welfare partners in the Limestone Coast region, as well as help to stock our local Food Hub in Mount Gambier,” Ms Neshoda said.

“Core staples include rice, pasta, pasta sauces, breakfast cereal, long life milk, canned fruit and vegetables – products that everyone should have in their pantry, but sadly do not.”

Foodbank relies on local businesses and organisations to donate money, food or services.

Every month Foodbank delivers thousands of meals to Limestone Coast families and children experiencing disadvantage.

“Demand for our services locally continues to increase and our commitment as a local Foodbank team to our community is stronger than ever,” Ms Neshoda said.

“It is simply fantastic to have the support of a local business like NF McDonnell & Sons.

“We are very fortunate to live in such a generous region, where donations flow back into the community in such a manner.”
