NOMINATIONS have come the way of more than 100 employees and businesses in the eighth annual Millicent Business Community Association Outstanding Business Awards.
Among them are Millicent Chemist and Giftware employee Nicolle Skeer, who has been nominated in the employee of the year category.
Along with the other business owners and employees, she will await the result of the judges’ deliberations as well as the music by Juicy X at the awards cabaret at the Millicent War Memorial Civic and Arts Centre on August 11.
According to Ms Skeers nomination, she is a caring and friendly pharmacy assistant.
Ms Skeer has worked in the George Street business for the past five years and has been nominated in the past.
Among her pastimes are playing netball at Hatherleigh, as well as spending time wither her nieces and nephews.
“I love my job and I enjoy being with the people I work with,” Ms Skeer said.
“I know about 90pc of my customers by name.
“I work full-time from Tuesday to Saturdays and my work also takes me to Hart Court and Sheoak Lodge.”
Millicent Chemist and Giftware proprietor and pharmacist Usman Hameed said he was pleased that his staff member had received the recognition.
“The award nominations show there is a lot of appreciation for us,” Mr Hameed said.
“The MBCA awards are good for the community of Millicent.
“It gives us enthusiasm to do our best.”
MBCA chairman Lee Morgan has recently written a letter of congratulations to all businesses and individuals who have received nominations.
