YEAR 1 Tenison Woods College students have taken part in the school’s annual fairytale day, dressing up as their favourite storybook characters.
The day was a culmination of the reading program and writing workshops in the Year 1 curriculum, with students focused on characters, settings and plots in fairytale stories.
On the day there were many wonderful and creative costumes which were showcased to all Year 1 students with a parade in the morning.
Afterwards, the students were given a range of materials and asked to create something from a fairytale.
There were some colourful creations, from castles to baskets for little red riding hood to story settings, which included forests, cottages and tiny characters.
Students also spent time writing their own fairytales.
