Real estate team launches blanket appeal

WINTER APPEAL: SAL Real Estate Mount Gambier team members Ben Ransom, Imogene Ryan and Sara O’Connor with blankets donated to this year’s SAL Real Estate winter blanket appeal, which supports The Salvation Army. Picture: BRITTANY DENTON

AS MINIMUM temperatures hover around 10C this week, Mount Gambier’s SAL Real Estate team has launched its second annual winter blanket appeal.

The initiative will aim to keep struggling families warm this winter by donating blankets to The Salvation Army, which will distribute the blankets to those in need.

“Last year we collected 40 blankets and ideally this year we would like to collect 50 or more,” SAL Real Estate’s Imogene Ryan said.

“To support the appeal, people can bring blankets, quilts or doonas to our office at 23 Gray Street.

“We will be gratefully accepting donations until May 29.”

Blankets, quilts or doonas can be new or second-hand, as long as they are clean and in good condition.

“We launched the appeal this week and have already had a number of donations,” Ms Ryan said.

“We would love to provide The Salvation Army with more than 50 blankets to support disadvantaged people in our community and keep people warm this winter.”
