Rotary Club backs football talent

THE Rotary Club of Mount Gambier has made a generous donation to the city’s Junior Sports Assistance Fund.

The donation will assist financially disadvantaged junior sports people with the costs associated with participating in their chosen sport.

The donation of $2,000 was part of the proceeds from the club’s annual OneFortyOne Blue Lake Fun Run.

Junior Sports Assistance Fund presiding member Cr Hanna persello said the Rotary Club and sports fund committee had identified worthy recipients from member organisations.

“The fund and its member organisations are very appreciative of the Rotary Club of Mount Gambier Lakes for its sponsorship of this initiative,” she said.

Funding is available for two nominees from the South East Women’s Football Association ($300 each), one nominee from the Limestone Coast Football Association ($300) and 12 nominees will receive a discretionary donation of $120 each.

An additional round of applications will open later in the year.

For further details contact Cr Hanna Persello on 0438 354 787.
