THE Millicent and District Community Club is one of three deputations that will be up for discussion at tonight’s monthly Wattle Range Council meeting.
Community club management committee chair Matt Hann and Quentin Pietsch will outline a financial update on the repayments of its community loan to council, currently around $194,000.
Council first struck a community loan with the club in 1997, with the $400,000 loan expected to be paid out in the 2017/18 financial year.
The loan has been refinanced on two occasions, first in 2002 for $504,313 and secondly in 2016 for $366,479.
Following the last revision, the expected date to pay the loan was extended to September 2023.
In September 2017, the then operations manager David Walshaw made a formal presentation to council seeking a variation to the current repayment schedule.
Council resolved to go into confidence to discuss the financial matters in more detail on the basis of it being commercial information of a confidential nature.
Following the presentation council will discuss the loan, taking into consideration the staff recommendation.
Mount Burr Football Club’s David Wallis and Sophie Crauford will discuss the club’s maintenance projects, while Beachport Beachcare Group’s Michael McCourt will discuss the Beachport Boat Ramp.
The Millicent Domain Masterplan, parking restrictions on Stuckey Street and the Millicent Aerodrome land lease will also be up for debate.
