Glenelg Shire Summer Reading Club

GLENELG Shire school aged children will have the opportunity to take part in the Summer Reading Club these holidays at Glenelg Libraries.

Following the theme of “game on”, young readers will this summer break be encouraged to play, solve, participate and read in celebration of sports, games, technology and spirit.

Registration to the reading club is free and participants who register at Glenelg Libraries will receive a Summer Reading Club welcome pack.

Mayor Anita Rank said the club encourages children to live a healthy lifestyle.

“A healthy lifestyle doesn’t stop at physical activity, it is also about expressing your creativity and engaging in literacy activities,” she said.

“The program allows kids throughout the shire to discover great junior authors as well as be a part of a national community.”

Glenelg Libraries will host an activity afternoon of puzzles and team challenges at the Portland Library on January 4 from 4pm to 5pm.
