Big season for Borderline Speedway

THE Borderline Speedway is set for a big year of racing, with a full calendar that includes the jewel in the crown – the Australian Open Sprintcar Championship.

The championship will run from January 25, 2018, over three nights, finishing on January 27.

All the big names of the sport are expected to attend, including some of more than 10 drivers based out of the Blue Lake city.

The season kicks off with a bang with Round 3 of the SRA Sprintcar series and will also feature Round 3 of the World

Series Sprintcars, which includes contracted Mount Gambier driver Glen Sutherland.

The King’s Challenge and Easter Sprintcar Trail, plus Round 10 of the All Stars 360 series complete the list of winged warriors.

There are plenty of other nights to enjoy at the clay oval, with Formula 500s, Wingless Sprints, Street Stocks, Super Sedans and Speedcars, plus many other support categories all on the calendar in a packed season of racing.

Borderline Speedway 2017-18 Calendar

November 25: Round 3 SRA Sprintcar Series; Formula 500 South Australian title; Supports – Junior Sedans.

December 28: Round 3 World Series Sprintcars (night 3 of Speedweek); Formula 500 Speedweek.

January 6: Tri Feature night – Wingless Sprint Summer Slam night two, Street Stocks series, Round 3 Speedcar Super Series.

January 18: Kings Sprintcar Challenge; Supports – Junior Sedans.

January 25-27: Night one Australian Open Sprintcar Championships.

February 24: Round 10 All Stars 360 Sprintcar Series/Tyson Perez Memorial; Supports – Modlites, Super Rods, Late Models.

March 17: Wingless Sprint Super Series Final; Street Stocks MJS Series; Supports – Classics.

March 31: Night two Easter Sprintcar Trail; Supports – VSC Standard Saloons, Super Rods.

April 13: Super Sedan South Australian Title; Marsh Modifieds.
