ANOTHER Tigers tattoo is on the cards for iconic Mount Gambier Richmond fan Craig “Bugs” Parham following the result of the weekend’s AFL Grand Final.
It was another emotional weekend for Bugs after his beloved Tigers claimed the AFL premiership win on Saturday.
Bugs appeared on national television crying after Richmond defeated Greater Western Sydney in the preliminary final.
Since then, Bugs has become a social media star.
The Border Watch featured Bugs in a video on Facebook ahead of the weekend’s final which attracted over 12,000 views and a number of comments from football fans in the area.
On Saturday, Bugs kicked back at home with a few close friends to view the match of the year in the comfort of his own “Tiger den”.
It was not until around half an hour before the first siren his nerves kicked in.
“I am a nervous wreck like a cat on a hot tin roof before a normal home and away game, so my partner was pretty surprised when I appeared calm the morning of the big game,” he said.
“All throughout the week I felt pretty confident we would get up.
“I was a little shook when the Crows booted the first few goals, but our boys settled and came back to win it.”
He said watching his team win was a memorable moment.
“As you can imagine, I am very happy, it was just incredible,” Bugs said.
“If the boys get in next year there is no doubt that we will be going to the game, I only hope I don’t have to wait another 35 years.”
Former Richmond player now tattoo parlour owner Jake King recently announced a 20pc discount for die-hard fans at the City of Ink tattoo studio in Melbourne.
With a Tiger already inked on his ankle, Bugs is looking forward to getting a new tattoo commemorating the win.
“There are about eight of us who want to go Jake’s shop and get the same tattoo the players will get,” he said.
“I am not sure where I will put it yet, it might even go on my chest, right where my heart is.”
