A QUIET morning of reflection was shared by many Mount Gambier residents on Saturday morning at the annual Out of the Shadows event.
A national event organised by Lifeline, the breakfast and walk is a chance for everyone and anyone to come together and reflect on the impact suicide has on those throughout the region.
Lifeline South East crisis support coordinator Jeff Hodge said it was a great morning with around 50 people making their way to the Mel Hirth lookout.
“It was an absolutely beautiful morning – everyone mingled and chatted away, which was great to see,” he said.
“Some also took the opportunity to take a walk around the Blue Lake, enjoying the amazing weather we
had.”
Organised in conjunction with World Suicide Prevention Day, it was also an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the mental health support available to current and former members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their families across the country.
