Mil Lel strikes in first innings

MIL LEL secured first-innings points in the weekend’s Barber Shield cricket round when it fired with the ball against East Gambier, knocking the Bulldogs over for just 78 runs.

That result came in just the 36th over, with Mil Lel then taking to the crease at its home venue of Frew Park to post a winning 8/99 before the day was done.

Mil Lel captain Craig Lock was in blinding form with the ball and a purple patch saw him finish the day with a five-wicket haul.

Was it not for 35 runs from Dion Stratford, the Bulldogs could have been in even more trouble, with his score making up almost half of the total.
