GLENCOE left nothing to chance when it hosted Kongorong in Round 14 of Mid South East football on Saturday.

The Murphies claimed a comfortable 83-point win after dominating the contest from start to finish.

A 26-point lead at the first break put the writing on the wall, before a five-goal second term, to the Hawks’ three, stretched that to 44 points at the main break.

The Hawks needed a lift after half time but that did not come, as the Murphies continued to have their way with the Sherrin.

By the final break the margin had blown out to 59 points and just the formalities remained.

But rather than rest on their laurels, the Murphies continued to apply scoreboard pressure with four final-quarter goals to run the game out in style.

Glencoe’s Alex Hentschke kept his name close to the pointy end of the league goal-kicking list with six major scores, to trail Hatherleigh’s Patrick Chay by just two goals.

Jack Edmonds chipped in with five goals, Patrick Mitchell three and Harry Opperman two.

For Kongorong, Luke McIntyre kicked three goals.

Best for the victors were Dylan Childs, Zacc Cocks, Mitchell, Matt Cordy, Hentschke and Edmonds, with Bodhi Pannenburg, Ethan Norman, Thomas Hunter, William Vonstanke, Ryan Lucas and Sjaakie Duivenvoorde best for Kongorong.
