Golf: Maxwell plays smart round

UNSTABLE conditions greeted golfers at the Attamurra golf course on Saturday, with strong winds making for a tough stableford competition.

John Maxwell produced the round of the day to beat a field of 129, with an impressive 41 points in the trying conditions.

His score saw him claim the B Grade winner’s cheque in front of Peter Berkefeld on 39 points.

In C Grade Des Guerin continued his good run of form with 40 points for first place, with Graham Robinson second on 39.

In A Grade it was visiting Willunga GC member Steven Williams who showed the locals how it is done, claiming
