Alcohol thief pays hefty price

The culprit, Miles Morrell Rowe, 33, was sentenced to imprisonment in court yesterday. Mr Stewart said after the incident he asked the Rowe to pay for the box of alcohol and instead the man entered his car and locked the doors. “I walked up to it and told him there was no point stealing the carton because he was on camera,” Mr Stewart said. “He just told me he didn’t care and warned me to get out of the way or he would run me over.” Rowe has since admitted stealing the carton of beer, but denied threatening Mr Stewart. A MAN of no fixed address will be deported back to New Zealand after he completes a short prison sentence for several theft matters in Mount Gambier.

Miles Morrell Rowe, 33, appeared via video-link in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on Tuesday to be sentenced for two counts of theft and two counts of giving false details.
