South Australian State Committee of Highland Dancing technical competition

AROUND 30 dancers in vibrant tartan kilts impressed a capacity audience with their fancy footwork at the Main Corner complex on Saturday afternoon.

The South Australian State Committee of Highland Dancing technical competition attracted primary, beginners, novice, intermediate and premier dancers.

Adjudicated by Rebecca Adamson of Western Australia, dancers performed the Highland fling, sword dance and Highland Laddie among other traditional Scottish dances.

The two-day event continued on Sunday with a technical session for judges and a two hour workshop with Ms Adamson, who is a qualified teacher, physiotherapist and Highland professional.
